		<description>I used the hand attachment on Sunday to do the stairs.  It works very well, too, although it&#039;s narrow so it took quite a while to do them - about 10 minutes per stair.  Yow!  But it worked just as well as the upright portion.

One thing I learned is that the instructions aren&#039;t kidding when they say to vacuum the rug until no more water is being visibly sucked up - it definitely helped the carpet dry faster.  And if you don&#039;t do it fairly soon after the initial pass, then it&#039;s going to be too late.  Just a word to anyone who surfs in here wondering about how well the machine works - it works very well, but you do have to use it properly.</description>
