It works very well, too, although it's narrow so it took quite a while to do them - about 10 minutes per stair. Yow! But it worked just as well as the upright portion. One thing I learned is that the instructions aren't kidding when they say to vacuum the rug until no more water is being visibly sucked up - it definitely helped the carpet dry faster. And if you don't do it fairly soon after the initial pass, then it's going to be too late.
